St. Mary’s Episcopal Church

PARISH HALL RENOVATION, EXTERIOR FAÇADE RESTORATION, AND MASTER PLANNING

Built in 1888, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church represents 150 years of ministry in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. STRATA assisted the church with the preparation of a grant application to the William T. Kemper Foundation for the restoration of the exterior doors and the renovation of the parish hall. This deserving church received the grant in 2008, and began master planning for the parish hall renovation and the lower level multi-purpose room. The exterior restoration of the masonry entrances with new custom-built mahogany doors was completed in 2009. The Parish Hall Renovation included: new interior finishes and cabinetry, white oak wood flooring, knotty alder wainscot, restored and new plaster finish walls and ceilings, new ADA accessible restrooms, new basement stairway, new lighting, and upgraded electrical and HVAC systems. The newly renovated Parish Hall, completed August of 2010, provides new opportunities for receptions and community programs.
